"DRAW NEAR TO ME AND I WILL DRAW NEAR TO YOU" ~ James 4:8

10-12 Week Embryo

Project Description

Weeks 10-12   End of the First Trimester and the Embryonic Stage

I look like a real baby now!  My back is less curved and my “tail” has disappeared.  See how my arms and legs have grown? My fingers and toes are almost complete.  Bones and muscles are starting to grow to support my fragile organs as they form.  Like a perfect puzzle, I am beautifully and wonderfully made in just the right order.  As my facial features continue developing, indications of my ears, lips, mouth and nose are appearing on my large head. I am learning to swallow, yawn and suck.   My eyelids are forming and will stay closed for a few more months, but I can already sense bright light.

I am about two inches long and weigh less than an ounce.

Inside my brain, nerve cells are communicating with every part of my body.  I am moving around but mommy won’t feel me for another month. My umbilical cord is well formed and now my intestines fit inside me.

I am so excited!  All the parts I need for life inside the womb have formed.  Even my organs are established and successfully completed so I can now be called a fetus!
